Technology in the Classroom

All students in grade 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 have classroom Promethean board systems in their classrooms, which enable teachers and students to complete instructional activities that include online curricula, internet-based learning and graphic visual presentations of instruction.

Student in grades 3 and 4 have their own netbook computer, while grade 5 students have their own iPad. The students use these devices to participate in internet-based learning and individual responses to teacher conducted graphic learning presentations and word processing of their own writing. Classrooms also have a four-channel amplification system for teachers and students to use to facilitate the students' ability to hear instruction.

All classrooms at Horton have wireless internet access. Teachers use internet-based leaning and projection systems for classroom instruction. There three to five student use computers in each classroom.
